27 Feb What Are “COB” LEDs
Chip-on-Board (COB) attributes to the mounting of a uncover LED’s chip in direct contact with a substrate to produce LED arrays. COB LEDs has improvements over older LED lights. COB technology grants for a much higher packing quantity of the LED array, called improved “lumen density”. This results in higher magnitude and greater consistency of light. Sooner, using COB LED technology can incredibly cut down the footprint and energy consumption of the LED array while keeping light output consistent.
The alternative big advantage of using COB LED technology is in the fact that COB devices have only 1 circuit and 2 contacts for the entire chip heedless of the number of diodes. This single circuit design, heedless of the number of diodes on the chip, leads to clarity for the rest of LED device.
The edge of Chip-on-Board LED arrays include:
- Compactness
- High-Intensity
- High-Uniformity
- Design Simplicity (only 1 circuit and 2 contacts are required)
- Superior Thermal Work for increased life, balance and accuracy
COB LED’s are critical when running on battery power
When designing a battery-powered lighting system, there has always been a agreement between the amount of high-quality lumen output and length of run-time via battery operation. First time ever, very low wattage COB LED’s can output intensely high-quality, ultra-bright light. A 6W LED Trade Show lights will run 14-15 hours using a very small and light weight (1.25lbs) rechargeable Mobile Power Center.
As such, GOGO Panels exclusively uses COB LED technology in its full line of trade show exhibit lighting. COB LED’s are brighter, drain less power and output a higher quality beam of light related to older LED technologies found in most other trade show lights today. Insist on COB LED technology!
